Beatrice Degollado Arevalo age 86 of Alvin, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2018. She was surrounded by family whose lives she touched graciously. Beatrice was born February 3, 1932 in Galveston, TX and was a resident of Alvin, TX for 65 years. She was a devoted mother and a very well-known active member throughout her community where she established a business with her husband Jorge Arevalo Sr. She was a woman who loved to serve the Lord, and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
On January 19, 1970, Beatrice and her husband Jorge Arevalo Sr. opened George’s Cleaners and Community Cleaners, which became one of Alvin’s most successful dry-cleaning businesses to date. Beatrice worked alongside her husband and daughter Carmen Castro for well over 40 years though she still continued to work from home up until 2018. She built many lasting memories with her family at their bay house where she enjoyed reading and watching them fish.
She is survived by her husband Jorge Arevalo Sr, brother Gilbert Degollado, sons Johnny Rodriquez, Jorge Arevalo Jr and wife Suzanne, and Geno Rodriquez. Daughters Yolanda Diez and husband Jenky, Cynthia Chambless and husband Chan, and Son in law Florentino Castro Jr. She also has 13 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her father Margarito Degollado Sr, her mother Refugio Rodriguez Degollado, her sisters Carmen Serenil and Margarita Degollado, brothers Dagoberto “Roy” Castillo and Margarito Degollado Jr, and her daughter Carmen Arevalo Castro.
