Dear Ms. Betty and family Please forgive me for not participating in the ceremony for Ms. Betty. It was very difficult for me when she went home. Betty was such a loving woman. I met Betty and family while I was volunteering at the nursing home. Ms Betty came to every activity I had going on even if I was just in the room alone she was the first one in. We would play kick bag and her wonderful sons and her husband always joined in which made Betty and rest of the residents feel so special. When I quit volunteering for awhile I would see Ms Betty sitting by the front door. She is a bright light. I choose to remember this angel as she was the Friday before she went home. I brought the gentleman that sings for the residents into her room she smiled so pretty as he serenaded her and stoked her hair she looked so at peace. This how I will forever remember her. God bless you all With all my love, respect, prayers Joyce Templeman

Jeff and family, I just wanted to send my condolences. It was my honor to be one of her caregivers during the last months of her life. She was one of my favorite patients. Whenever I came to see her, she always had a huge smile for me. I would take her hands in mine, and she always commented "Oooh, your hands are so warm". I would rub her hands in mine to warm them for her. She was truly a beautiful lady, and I will miss her. Praying for you and your family, Jeff. God Bless you all.

May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

I was glad for the chance to get to know Betty. She was truly the best thing that ever happened to my father, and she brought out all his best qualities. That was the kind of person she was. After her love for the Lord, she valued family above everything else. It was she who persuaded Sam to get in touch with us and stay in touch after many years without contact. I regret that my husband and I were unable to attend the celebration of her homegoing. Betty, you will be deeply missed, but I rejoice with you that your suffering is over and you're forever in the presence of the Lord. Much love

I got the pleasure of meeting Betty this past year at the nursing home. I started volunteering and she was one of the first ladies I got to know. Her smile made everyones day and her sweet heart was easily shown through the way she spoke to others. If I had a bad day, I would go to see her and she was filled with hugs and wisdom. She would read her bible to me and always smile. She was classy and loved her pearls, and inspired me to wear pearls more often. Being with her weekly the last year of her life means so much. I have much peace knowing she is with the Lord and is healthy. The last words she spoke to me was I love you, she was like a grandmother to me and I will never forget the times we shared. I love you sweet Betty.

From early childhood Betty was that special person in my life. She encouraged me and was a light in my life. She was my aunt, my mothers youngest sister, and was a big sister to me. To her four wonderful sons and families my heart goes out to you. Like the special person she was you have inherited part of that. I am so sorry I will not be able to be at her service, but you are in my thoughts and prayers. Love to you all at this time.

My beautiful Aunt Betty was the most imortant person in my childhood next to my parents. The summers i stayed with her were so great. Sbe made me feel special. I wanted to be just like her. I sucked my 2 fingers when i was a kid. Betty got me to stop by telling me they were going to fall off like uncle joes thumb. We had an Uncle Joe that was missing a thumb. That made me stop, however, Betty always felt bad she tricked me. Later telling me the truth. I will always be grateful for the time she & Sam came & spent a few days with us during hurricane Katrina. We drove all over the country around Sulphur Springs, she showed me where they lived growing up.They took the train in Sulphur Springs when they moved to Dallas. Mike, Steve, Jeff & Scott, yall had the best Mom, I know you already know this. She was so proud of everyone of you. Through the years we would talk on the phone & she would praise each one on your accomplishments. Someday we will have a huge family reunion in Heaven.

Aunt Betty was a very kind and caring person. My mother would have to go to the hospital a lot. When she did, I would stay with Aunt Betty and the boys. When I think of my childhood and the people who helped to mold me, Aunt Betty is one of the people at the top of my list.
One of the best things about going to heaven will be knowing Aunt Betty will be there. I look forward to seeing her again!
