Cheryl Ann Whitworth

Cheryl Ann Whitworth, an incredibly brave and inspiring cancer warrior passed away on Wednesday, November 1, at the age of 56. Cheryl was born August 15, 1961 in Houston, TX.  She moved to Santa Fe, TX in 1996 and worked for Clear Creek ISD; then later at St. Joseph’s Hospital, where she started a transportation program for cancer patients; and then went on to drive a school bus at Alvin ISD. Cheryl has been documented as being the longest survivor of Non Hodgkins Lymphoma; and having enrolled in clinical trials at NIH in Bethesda, MD and MD Anderson, has contributed to medical research, furthering treatment options for others fighting this terrible disease. She battled cancer in true “Cancer Warrior” fashion; never feeling sorry for herself and never losing sight of what was important to her; her family. Her strength and tenacity inspired others around her. Cheryl lived her life on her terms, never faltering in her immense love to her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Leslie Whitworth; son, Jarred Whitworth; brother, Glen Lipp and wife, Pam; nieces, Lauren and Vivian Lipp. Out of respect for Cheryl’s final wishes, there will be no funeral services. A memorial service is being held at a later date and time.
