Gloria Jane (Gamez) De La Rosa

Gloria Jane De La Rosa, age 62 of Alvin, was surrounded by her family on July 10, 2017 in Galveston as she went to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born on November 9, 1954 in Victoria, Texas to parents, Francisco and Francisca (Bocanegra) Gamez. Gloria married the love of her life, Joe De La Rosa, on November 7, 1970 in Bay City, Texas. She and Joe moved from Bay City to Alvin four years ago. Gloria was a devoted housewife and a loving mother, who loved her grandchildren and the Lord God Almighty with all of her heart.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Francisca (Bocanegra) Gamez; brothers: Joe Gamez and Victor Gamez; and sisters: Matilda Guajardo, Isabel Benavides, and Geneva Perez.

She is survived by her husband, Joe De La Rosa, Sr.; children: Joe De La Rosa, Jr. and wife Melinda of Pearland, Johnny De La Rosa and wife Anna of Pearland; grandchildren: Victor Vargas III, Joe De La Rosa III, Hannah Taylor De La Rosa, Noah Guadalupe De La Rosa, and Melinda Sofia De La Rosa.

Visitation for Gloria will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Oak Park Chapel. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Park Chapel. Interment will follow at Oak Park Cemetery.
