Judy Lynn (Craig) Doane

Judy Lynn (Craig) Doane, age 60 of Alvin, left this earth to be with loved ones on April 2, 2018. She was born on June 20, 1957 in El Paso, Texas to parents, Joe and Jo Ann Craig. Judy moved from Las Cruces, NM to Alvin, TX in 1982. She married her loving husband, Kean S. Doane, on October 8, 1999 in Alvin. Judy was of the Baptist Faith and fairly confident they will let her sneak in upstairs. She enjoyed spending time harassing her children, spoiling her grandkids, and obeying her dogs.

Judy relished humor and easily infected others with her boisterous laugh. She helped friends and family realize their strengths and fiercely defended anyone’s opinion as long as it matched her own. Judy raised two wonderful children that never had to wonder about her love for them. She was strict but fair, tough but sweet, and always let you know where she stood.

Judy was a hard worker and managed residential properties for nearly 20 years. She had a penchant for decorating, creative writing, and making people laugh. Her memories were something she cherished and shared freely, although they sometimes conflicted with reality. Always the snazzy dresser, she had many a color of muumuu for every season. No matter what title she used, (Momma, Momo, Sisty Ugler, Mama-san, Grand Mama-san or Grandma with the wheels), she will truly be missed by all that knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Jo Ann Craig; sister, Julie Carmichael; uncle, James “Mudflap” Craig; and grandchild, Brock Schimming.

Judy is survived by her husband, Kean S. Doane; daughter, Kimberly Schimming of Friendswood; son, Jeremy Williams and wife Stacey of Richwood; sisters: Joetta Craig and husband Marty of Lakewood, WA., and Jan Daugherty and husband Ernie of Las Cruces, NM.; nephews: Glenn, Billy, Robbie, and James; nieces: Mary Jo and Shawna; grandchildren: Preston, Kagen, Kelby, Taylor, Kori, Cameron, Ryan; and great grandchildren: Gabriella, Ava, and Preston, Jr.

A celebration of her life and a time for reflection will be held at Oak Park Funeral Home in Alvin, TX on Saturday, April 7th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
