LaVonne June (Lawhon) Alexander

LaVonne June (Lawhon) Alexander, age 74, of Alvin passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. She was born on November 5, 1942 in Sweetwater, Texas to parents, John and Mattie (Potts) Lawhon. LaVonne was a resident of the Alvin area for most of her life and a member of Faith Community Church.

LaVonne loved arts and crafts of all kinds. She also enjoyed playing cards, shopping, and watching Hallmark movies.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlie Leo Alexander; parents, John and Mattie Lawhon; and her brother, Garey Lawhon.

LaVonne is survived by her daughters, Cheri McGinnis and Sandra Henderson; sister, Nancy Chambers; brother, James Lawhon; grandchildren: Michael McGinnis, Shawn McGinnis, Michael Henderson, Jr., Kimberly Breland, Christina Bunch, Matthew Henderson; and 17 great grandchildren.

Services for LaVonne will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Oak Park Chapel. The Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with the Funeral Service starting at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Judi Wilds will be officiating. Interment will follow in procession to South Park Cemetery in Pearland.
