Leslie Suzanne (Blakely) Sharp, 56, went to be with our Lord surrounded by her family on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. Leslie was born on June 2, 1960 to parents Lester and Donna (Musser) Blakely in Lynwood, Ca. In 1978 she graduated from John Rowland High School in Rowland Heights, California. Leslie was happily married to the love of her life Steven Sharp on August 25, 1979 in South Gate, Ca. Together they raised two wonderful children, Kellie Suzanne and Eric Steven. Throughout her children’s growing years, the family traveled, enjoyed camping and the beach, going to the Nutcracker Ballet, Rodeo, and especially attending Dallas Cowboy football games. Leslie enjoyed collecting bird houses and antique tin containers. Spending time with her family and caring for her grandchildren was her main love and joy.
Leslie was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 25 years ago, and late last year was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis. She was a strong MS warrior who fought and won many battles until her weakened immune system could no longer triumph.
Leslie was preceded in death by her son, Eric Sharp; her brother, Jeffrey Blakely; grandparents: Don and Dorothy Blakely and Frank and Hazel Zilinsky.
She is survived by her loving husband, Steven Sharp; loving parents, Lester and Donna Blakely of California; loving daughter: Kellie Pleasant and husband Wesley of League City; loving daughter-in-law, Katie Sharp of Michigan; loving brother, John Blakely and Hanah of California; loving sister-in-law, Valerie Sharp of California; loving grandchildren: Ashtin, Taylor, Abigail, Eric, Marcus, and Tai; loving nieces and nephews: Dawn Marie, Sadie Rose, Francine, Eric Jeffrey, Lucas John, and Aiden James; loving aunts, uncles, cousins, family members and friends.
We would like to thank our family and friends for their prayers, cards, phone calls, and especially their love during this difficult time.
We will miss her beautiful smile, her warm heart, and treasure all the wonderful memories.
