Melvin James Krampota

Melvin James Krampota, 82, of Alvin passed away on May 12, 2017. Melvin was born on September 3, 1934 in Iowa Colony to parents Charles and Theresa (Marsh) Krampota. He served his country in the United States Army. On December 22, 1956 he married Joyce Dabney. They moved to Alvin in 1961 where they raised their four children. He worked for Mobil Oil for thirty nine years and he truly liked his job. When he had his time off, he loved to go fishing. His children will always cherish the memories of their Dad taking them fishing.Other memories include time spent at the bowling alley. Melvin was an avid bowler and bowled up until the time his health would no longer permit it. He also enjoyed traveling to and spending time in the casinos.

Melvin was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, his parents Charles and Theresa Krampota, brother Raymond Krampota, sister Grace Cook, brother in laws Vernon Cook and James Mc Anally and daughter in law Mary Ann Krampota. He is survived by his children; Glenn Krampota of Lake Jackson, Chris Krampota of Alvin, Todd Krampota of Hitchcock, Laurie Cummings and husband Kenny of Alvin;  brothers: Franklin Krampota and wife Katie, Charles Krampota and wife Sandra_and Jerry Krampota and wife Peggy; Sisters: Evelyn Giddens and husband Sonny and Ruby McAnally, sister in law Delores Krampota; grandchildren: Hannah Cummings, Rachel Reynolds and husband Cory, Kourtney Kettler and husband Casey, Katelin Krampota and Cody Tatum.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 17, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with the Funeral Service following at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oak Park Cemetery.
