Peggy Lee Weir

Peggy Lee Weir, 70, of Manvel passed away on July 13, 2017. Peggy was born on May 1, 1947 in Libertyville, Illinois to parents Glenn and Elaine (Guy) Custis. She married Donald Weir on July 2, 1984 in Spring.  They moved from Spring to their home in Manvel in 1998 and recently celebrated 33 years of marriage. Peggy was an avid quilter. She belonged to the Tuesday Bee at First United Methodist Church in Alvin as well as the Gulf Coast Quilting Guild. She was also an active Mahjong player at the Senior Center. She had a true passion for competitive card games. Her greatest treasure was her family and friends and the time spent with them. She was a very giving and selfless person even to the point that her last act was to donate her body to science.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Glenn and Elaine Custis and her precious dog, Gizmo.

She is survived by her husband Donald Weir of Manvel; children: Shannon Zillmer and wife Myriam of Sealy; Shawn Sickle and husband Dan of Richmond; sisters and brothers: Sandra Maynard, Karen Koehler, Guy Koehler and Greg Koehler; grandchildren: Jamie, Amber, Amy, Christina, Justin, Zach, Chloe; great grandchildren: Carson, Meredith, Dillon, Zoeann and Trevor; and numerous other family members and friends.
