Pamela Joan (Adams) Means passed away with family by her side on Thursday February 22, 2024 at the age of 81 years. She was born June 7, 1942 in Alvin, Texas to the late Annie (Hurta) and Egbert Emery “EE” Adams. Pamela attended high school in Alvin, Texas. She spent all her life working and tending to livestock. She met and later married James A Means of Round Mott, Texas on July 21,1962. He survived her by 8 days.
She is survived by her loving family: brother, Harold Adams and wife, Alice of Marble Falls; nephew Allen Adams and wife Susie of ???; niece Vicke (Adams) Tupa and husband Mark of Pearland; Karen (Knight) Armstrong and husband, Robert of Webster; Frankie Knight and wife, Deanna of Bayou Vista; niece Chelleye (Means) Block and husband, Wayne of Hobson; and many other family and friends.
Pamela worked at a variety of jobs including a local car dealership, a hardware store, and owned a laundromat with her mother - working hard most of her life to help support her family. But the work she loved the most was riding horses, raising dogs, and working cattle beside James, family and friends. After retirement and moving to the Fannin community near Goliad, she and James served the community by working with the Fannin Volunteer Fire Department.
She enjoyed taking family hunting and fishing and was always ready to help with family gatherings.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society or the Fannin Volunteer Fire Department.
