Pauline was born with her twin sister in Pledger, TX on November 17, 1934. The Allen family moved to Arizona in 1936 and eventually to Bisbee, Arizona where she graduated from high school. In 1952, she moved to Houston and worked at the county court house where she met and later married Billy Erskine a CPA from Trinity, TX in 1954, who was also a twin. She had four children which they raised in Alvin, TX. When the children got older, Pauline had several jobs including working as a bookkeeper, sales clerk, and finally a mail clerk at a prison before retiring.
Pauline enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Babysitting was a joy for her. She taught several grandkids to drive. She opened up her home to family as a safe harbor in order to continue education away from parents or a change in circumstances. Easter was a special time, where she planned Easter egg hunts for the kids. She travelled to many places to visit family including Guatemala and Hawaii. At 58 years old, she even climbed Diamond Head Volcano in Hawaii. She loved taking photographs of the family especially portraits. She spent endless hours researching family genealogy.
Ten years ago, Pauline went into hospice at a nursing home. She was supposed to die imminently. We were glad for the extra time with her. She will always be in our hearts.
