Amelia Munoz Garcia

Amelia Munoz Garcia, 87, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, August 30, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

Amelia’s life began on November 13, 1930 in Piedras Negras when she was born to Martin Munoz and Pomposa Peñallver.

Amelia met the love of her life, Louis, and married him on December 27, 1952 in Texas City.  They raised their family in Alvin and were blessed with 65 years together. Amelia loved watching the Rockets, Astros and tennis, especially Rafa Nadal. She cherished every moment with her loved ones and would turn these moments into teachable ones. She proudly earned her United States Citizenship in 1967. She took pride in supporting her family in every way measurable. She always put others before herself and there is no bigger heart than that of Amelia Garcia.

She was preceded in death by her husband Louis Garcia on November 26, 2016, her parents, her younger sister Estella Hight and her older sister Romelia Munoz, who was nine years old at the time of her death. 

Left to treasure an abundance of memories are her children:  Tommy Garcia (Karen), Mark Garcia (Beth), Rita Garcia, and Joye Haun; brother, Anthony Munoz; sisters:, Mary Herlinda Wall and Mary Ellen Galvan; grandchildren: Marcus (Danielle), Amanda, Aaron, Cassie, Isaac, Melyssa, Danielle, and Maria; great grandchild: Lorelai; extended grandkids that she took care of from infancy to preschool that have all now finished high school or college: Michaela and Katie Eixman, Kyle Baecker, Nathan Sudderth, Stevie Earhart, Michelle and Lauren Henry, Cara Smith, Cody Sudderth, Jeremy and Josh Hathcoat, Sara Amy Marshall, Kara and Ruth Corn, Evan and Ethan;  and many other family relatives and friends.
