Austin Neal Wilburn

Austin Wilburn, age 32, of Manvel, Texas, passed away on March 14, 2019. He was born on June 20, 1986 in Pasadena, to parents Mark and Kathy (Hancock) Wilburn. Austin graduated cum-laud from Alvin Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Drafting.  He went on to study Industrial Design at the University of Houston. He was a member of the Murphy Road church of Christ in Missouri City. Austin had incredible knowledge of cars – makes, models, and their capabilities. He also had a good eye for art and was very talented with his hands when he had good use of them. He loved to hunt and fish. One of his proudest moments was when he won Most Points and earned his jacket in the Los Cazadores White Tail Deer Contest. He also had a great time when he caught two sailfish on his Make-A-Wish trip to Florida. He had a kind and compassionate heart and his love of children and animals was evident. He had a strong desire to want to protect the children that he met at camp, and to ease the journey ahead of them. If he could have had a menagerie of animals, he would have. His dog, Lexie, stole his heart. Austin will be remembered for his beautiful heart, his determination to live life to the fullest and his quick wit.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Thad and Hester Hancock; his paternal grandfather: Jerry Wilburn; and his brother: Travis Lamar Wilburn.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents: Mark and Kathy Wilburn of Manvel; grandmother: Shirley Wilburn of Lake Jackson; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and friends.
