Carl Clyde Chrane, 53, of Houston passed away on June 21, 2018. Carl was born on October 5, 1964 in Houston to Clyde and Erlean (Walker) Chrane. He grew up in Alvin and graduated from Alvin High School in 1983. After graduation he attended Alvin Community College. In 1987 he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was stationed at an Air Force base near Sacramento when the large 1989 earthquake hit Northern California. He was playing tennis at the time of the earthquake and he felt the ground shake. After the time spent serving his country he worked as a truck driver and an apprentice electrician.
Carl enjoyed attending rock concerts and watching Texans football games and Astros baseball games. He loved dogs and had fond memories of his dog named Poopy. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and playing the drums.
Carl was preceded in death by his mother, Erlean Chrane. He is survived by his father Clyde Chrane of Alvin; brother: Steve Chrane of Lindale; sisters: Cheryl Mathews and husband Tracy Mathews of Kilgore and Mae Beth Chrane of Alvin; nephew:s Chris Chrane and wife Kim of Lindale, David Chrane of Lindale, Sam Gerwin and fiancé Ashley Dvorkin-Miller of Sugar Land, William Gerwin of Sugar Land and Ian Lambeth of Baytown; nieces Maureen Gerwin of Sugar Land and Lauren Lambeth of Alvin.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Oak Park Funeral Home.
