Charles Patrick Dolney, 84, of Alvin went to be with his Lord on September 28. 2018. Charles began his life journey on May 31, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan when he was born to Alexander and Katherine (Belchak). The road he traveled led him to the United States Navy and he served his country proudly in the Navy and in the Reserves. His time of service had him in Korea, the Berlin Crisis and the Cuban Missile Crisis. During these times he also met and married the love of his life, Hermina May Schuenemann. The wedding took place on February 24, 1958 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Alvin. They began their family in Houston and then moved to Alvin in 1973.
Charles had a love of the water. He loved the ocean and time spent on a sailboat or fishing was his favorite. Singing to his girls, and then later to his grandchildren, was great fun to him. His voice, albeit off key, will be forever etched in their memories.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Alexander and Katherine Dolney; his sister, Thelma Nichols; his brothers: Alex Dolney and John Dolney; his sisters-in-law: Barbara Dolney and Phyllis Dolney; and his son-in-law, Delbert Clark.
Every now and then someone exceptional comes into our lives. We were blessed to call him husband, father, grandfather and friend. The many of us left behind to treasure a multitude of memories are: his wife, Hermina Dolney; his daughters: Kathaleen Clark, Rene Dorris and husband Howard (Butch), Aimee Blysard and husband Edward, and Brenda Broussard and husband Paul; sisters: Kathy Wisener and husband William Eugene, and Theresa Dolney; grandchildren: DD Clark, Jennifer Brooks, Aric Clark, Anthony Clark, Shaun Dorris, Kristy Towner, Donna Blysard, Elizabeth Blysard, Morgan Blysard, Nicole Hazlip, Blake Broussard and Taylor Broussard; great grandchildren: Ami Clark, Gage Clark, Cadence Clark, Evelyn Clark, Jillyin Brooks, Devin Clark, George Rhew, Abilene Clark, Aurora Clark, Elliott Dorris, Summer Blysard, Autumn Blysard, Skylar Edwards, and Penelope Hazlip; many nieces, nephews, and spouses of his grandchildren that he loved dearly.
