Dale Coonrod

Francis Dale Coonrod, 73, of Alvin left this earth to be with his Father in Heaven on November 6, 2018. Dale, as he was known to family and friends was born to parents William (Bill) and Jessie Blanche (Glassford) Coonrod on July 24, 1945. Alvin was his lifetime home and it was here that he grew up along with his brothers and sisters. He loved watching football and checking to see if he won any money on the football pots that he was in. He also enjoyed sitting at home watching old westerns. His pride and joy were his nephews and nieces and the time spent with them.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, William (Bill) and Jessie Coonrod, and his sister Charlotte Branham.

Left to treasure a multitude of memories are his brothers and sisters: William Coonrod and wife Ruth, Sherry Blinco and husband Eddie, James Coonrod, Tommy Coonrod ,  Melody Sturm and husband Dennis; numerous nieces and nephews that he referred to as his “grandchildren”; and other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. with the funeral service starting at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Confederate Cemetery. Pallbearers are Devan Johnson, Mike Dollarhide, Terry Coonrod, Cody Lambeth, Jake Scott, and Frank Ragland.
