Eloisa Ramona Ortiz, 79, of Alvin went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 15, 2018. Eloisa began her life journey on August 9, 1939 in Brewster County, Texas where she was born to Thomas and Desidora (Ramirez) Gabaldon.
Eloisa married her precious husband in May of 1963 in San Pedro, California. They made their home in Alvin and it is here that they raised their daughters.
Eloisa enjoyed meeting new people. She was an avid reader of cooking magazines and The Woman’s Day. She enjoyed working on word search puzzles with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching TV mainly the News channels and especially The Cooking Channel. Eloisa enjoyed learning new things and enthusiastically shared what she learned with her girls, such as gardening, canning, sewing, and quilting.
Eloisa is preceded in death by her parents: Thomas and Desidora Ramirez Gabaldon; brothers: Ernesto Gabaldon and Bonifico Gabaldon; and sister: Claudia Gabaldon Hernandez.
Those blessed to have had her in their lives include her husband, Jaure Ortiz of Alvin; daughters: Patricia Jay Ortiz of Waco; Eloise Grace Cruzen and husband John of Alvin; and Kathryn Ortiz of Alvin; brother, Valerio Gabaldon of Kearny, Arizona; sisters: Mary Macias and husband Tomas of Superior, Arizona; Emilia Reyes of Phoenix, Arizona, and Antonia Bustamante and husband Rick of Casa Grande, Arizona; five grandchildren: Edwina (Ortiz) Soto, Erica Montalvo, Joel Montalvo, Jonathan Cruzen, Aaron Cruzen, eight great grandchildren: Joshua Soto, Jocelyn Soto, Kaleb Soto, Antonyo Liguez, Scarlett Liguez, Arianna Montalvo, Addie Montalvo, and Nathaniel Montalvo; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with the Funeral Service beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Oak Park Chapel. Honorary Pallbearers are; Jonathan Cruzen, Aaron Cruzen, Joshua Soto, Kaleb Soto, Antonyo Liguez and Joel Montalvo.
