Francisco O. Rivera

Francisco O. Rivera, 86, of Manvel passed away on March 18, 2018 with his family by his side. Francisco was born on October 25, 1931 in Grulla, Texas to Marin and Blaza (Olivo) Rivera. He married Maria Calderas on November 10, 1950 in Mercedes, Texas. They later moved to Pasadena and then to Manvel in 1972. While living in Pasadena he worked for the City of Pasadena. However, Pancho, as he was known to everyone, was a carpenter by trade. When he moved his family to Manvel, it was into a home that he built for them. He also loved to invent things and it brought him great satisfaction to work on and perfect them in his workshop that he had in his garage. He had great pride in his home and the care of it and he also enjoyed cutting the grass and gardening.

Francisco was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Olivia Barajas; brothers: Marin Jr. and Robert; and his sisters: Maria Louisa, Delia and Estella.

Those left to remember him include his wife Maria Rivera of Manvel; children: Ruben Rivera and wife Annie of Alvin, Isabael Alvarado and husband Tony of Pearland, David Rivera and wife Mary of Rosharon, Raymond Rivera of Pearland, and Gloria Salter and husband Scott of Deer Park; sisters and brother: Rosa Garza, Tina Delgado, Aurora Tovar, Olivia Vela, Raul Rivera, and Guadalupe Rivera; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.
