Hazel Estelle Coker

Hazel Estelle (Greer) Coker, age 92 of Alvin, passed away on December 16, 2017. Hazel was born on March 25, 1925 in Lamesa, Texas to James and May Belle (Sauerance) Greer. She married James Doyle Coker on December 18, 1942 in Lamesa, Texas. Hazel was an Alvin resident for the last 59 years and was a member of Heights Baptist Church. She was also active with the Senior Friends Organization, Meals on Wheels, and a volunteer at Alvin Community Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Doyle Coker; her parents, James and May Belle Greer; and sisters: Cleo Greer, Ruby Greer, Florence Greer, Mattie Greer, and Berniece Greer; and brother, Floyd Greer.

She is survived by her son, Ronnie D. Coker; grandchildren: Troy Alan Coker and Alyssa Dawn Hernandez; great grandchildren: Dustin Michael Tyler, Delaney Lynn Tyler, Katelin René Coker, and Chance Alan Coker; and great-great grandchild, Adalynn Joyce Tyler.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Park Chapel with Pastor Ken Wieser officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Park Cemetery.
