James Smith

James Smith made his journey home on June 8, 2018. James was born October 7, 1924 to James Earnest "Dock" Smith and Beulah Lenore Ragland Smith in Sumrall, Mississippi. He married Rose Mary Huggins on July 25, 1942. They moved to Alvin in 1958 and made their home here. He worked for I.S.P. in Texas City until his retirement.  He loved working in the yard and tending to his roses. He also enjoyed traveling and made many memories on his adventures. His dogs were precious to him and they will dearly miss him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Earnest "Dock" Smith and Beulah Lenore Ragland Smith; his wife Rose Mary Smith; as well as his siblings: Gerald Durwood "Bully" Smith, Frank Wayne Smith, Claude Mae "Bigun" Smith Hanberry, Delpha Jean Smith Hockin and Clyde Mae “Tiny” Leonard. He is survived by his daughter Marie Webb and son Ronnie Smith and wife Kathy, all of Alvin and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
