Karl Steven Wendell

Karl Steven Wendell, 58, of Liverpool passed away on January 21, 2019 with loved ones by his side. Karl was born on March 16, 1960 in Houston to Henry O. Wendell Jr. and Billie (Strawther) Wendell. He was a loving son, brother, father and uncle that was treasured by his family and friends. He enjoyed being out on the water and loved to fish.

Karl was preceded in death by his parents. Left to remember him are his children: Steven Wendell and Summer Wendell; sisters: Karla Beasley, Kristine Coe-Finn, and Karrie Baggett; brothers: Henry Oliver Wendell, III  Randall Wickus; and numerous other family members including grandchildren, nephews, niece in laws and niece, and other family members and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held on March 16, 2019 at Salem Cemetery in Rusk, Texas.  

Lord, I love the great outdoors,

enjoying this great world of Yours,

a fisherman with countless dreams

of fishing in Your lakes and streams.

I cast my line, then cast my cares,

and know You’ll answer all my prayers.

I’ll catch a fish and when I do,

I always offer thanks to You.

I hope that I can also be just like a man from Galilee,

Who shared God’s love with everyone.

Jesus Christ, God’s only son.
