Miraida Zambrana, 64, of Alvin passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019. Meri was born on May 11, 1954 in Cuba, to parents Justo Diaz and Claudia Lopez. She married the love of her life, Rafael Zambrana Sr., in Key West, Florida on October 30, 1972. They lived in Pasadena until 2007 when they moved to Alvin. She enjoyed being outside and taking care of her flowers especially her roses. She was very outgoing and liked to spend time antiquing, for her it was like a treasure hunt. Meri loved to sing and dance and was also known for being a great prankster. She also treasured the time spent with family and cooking meals for them. She and her husband made many great memories over the years, and some of their fondest were on cruises that took them to Europe. Her grandchildren, who knew her as their “Bela”, brought the biggest smile to her face and they were beyond precious to her.
Meri is survived by her husband Rafael Zambrana Sr.; three children; Jenicka Joseph and husband Michael, Rafael Zambrana Jr. and wife Vanessa, and Ann Marie Blosser and husband Gerald; six grandchildren: Alexis Joseph, Emily Joseph, Brandon Joseph, Collin Blosser, Trevor Zambrana, and Grayson Zambrana; and numerous other family members and friends.
