Otelia Lopez Eguia

Otelia Lopez Eguia, 89, of Alvin went to be with her Lord on October 31, 2017. Otelia was born on March 6, 1928 in San Benito, Texas to Jose and Rafela (Enrique) Lopez. She married Jose Florencio Eguia and they made their home in Alvin. She was a faithful Catholic and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Otelia had an amazing green thumb and loved flowers, especially roses. She also loved to crochet and to share those things that she created with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Eguia, Sr.; her parents, Jose and Rafela Lopez; and brothers:  Sam Gonzalez and Alfredo Gonzalez.

Left to remember her are her children: Jose Florencio Eguia, Jr. and wife Ida from Alvin,  Rafaela and her husband Raymond Foster from McGee, Mississippi,  Edward Eguia from Alvin; brother Raul Gonzalez and wife Lilly of Edinburg; sister Estella Galloway of San Antonio; grandchildren: Jeramy Ray Eguia and wife Lupe of League City, Brenda Rae Perez of Edinburg, and Kaylan Suzanne Martinez and husband Marc of Sneads Ferry, North Carolina.
