Petra (Cuellar) Flores

Petra Flores  passed away peacefully on  October 13, 2018 to be with the Lord at the age of 83 years.  Born in Gonzalez, Texas on October 23, 1934. She married Pete Flores and they raised their family in Alvin, Texas. She was a resident of Alvin, Texas for over 60 years and also a member of St. John’s Catholic Church of Alvin, Texas. She is preceded in death by Pete Flores; her parents, Arnulfo and Tomasa Cuellar; and her sister, Fidelia C. Chapa.

Survived by her 8 children Theresa Flores, Daniel Flores, Ruben Flores, Dora Flores, Plasida Flores, Alfonzo Flores, Deanna Flores and Alnulfo Flores. Also her 3 sisters Altagracia Rivera, Janie Gonzalez, Mary Olvio and brother Daniel Cuellar. Lovingly remembered by her children, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Resolutions Hospice Nurses and Staff.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service beginning at 12:30 at Oak Park Funeral Home on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 300 Oak Park Dr. Alvin, Texas. She will be laid to rest at Oak Park Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Alnulfo Flores, Don Felipe Fobbs, Pete Lira, Melchor Mendoza, Arturo Garza Jr., and Ruben Garza.

A family reception is to take place after at Galveston Central Church at 3308 Avenue O 1/2 , Galveston, Texas.
