Philip Reid Meyer

Philip Reid Meyer, 90, of Alvin passed away with his family by his side on December 11, 2019. Philip was born on November 21, 1929 in Galveston to parents, Philip Joseph Meyer and Anna Jimena Dahne.

He married Georgia Mae Sneed on November 23, 1950. They raised their family here in Alvin. Phil retired from Capital Computer Center. He was a member of Skyview Baptist Church and a Masonic Past Grand Master of the Alvin Lodge. He enjoyed fishing and teaching Sunday School at his church. Phil had the honor of baptizing his grandchildren and great grandchildren and performed some of their marriages. He also enjoyed hours and hours of old westerns, JAG, and CSI.

Phil was preceded in death by his first wife, Georgia Mae Meyer; second wife, Shirley Ireland Meyer; sister, Dorothy Blanchard; his parents, Philip Joseph Meyer and Anna Jimena Meyer; and his daughter, Terri Meyer.

Left to treasure his memory are his children: Darla Cross, Brenda Meyer and partner Dawn Fletcher, Nina Barnett and husband Jim, Donna Russell and husband Mark, and Danny Ireland; grandchildren: Lori Eaton and husband Terry, Brian Cross, Kelli Pope and husband Charles, Kara Ortiz and husband Jose, Chad Skinner and wife Amanda, Charice Fletcher and husband Josh, and Gary Fletcher; great grandchildren: Megan Eaton, Zach Eaton, Kami King, Nala Cross, Kayla Frad, Kyla Frad, Jacob Fletcher, Draik Hickok, Jordyn Fletcher, Ian Fletcher, Caleb Fletcher, Ayden Guess, Reagan O’Malley, Levi Norcross, Tony Ortiz, Roxy Fletcher, Devyn Pope, Allison Burton, Isabella Fletcher, Gary Fletcher, Jr., and Oliver Ortiz.
