Ruby White Obituary

Ruby Ann White, 89, of Webster left this earth for her heavenly home on November 4, 2019, surrounded by family and loved ones. Ruby began her life journey on October 5, 1930 in Alvin when she was born to Rex and Leeta (Jordan) Tullis.

She married Donald Edwin White on January 31, 1947. They lived most of their life in Alvin and in Manvel where she was active in the Manvel PTO, Cub Scouts, instructing summer swimming classes at the Alvin VFW pool, past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Alvin Chapter No. 15 and a member for over 50 years. She retired from Texas Instruments.

Ruby and Donald moved to Wimberley where they enjoyed raising cattle and watching deer, hummingbirds and other local wildlife from their front porch. They traveled in their motor home to visit family and friends and to see many of the scenic areas of the United States.  Ruby enjoyed photography, developing her own pictures and collecting cameras.  While in Wimberley, she was an active member of Chapel In The Hills Community Church and volunteered at The Village Store in Wimberley and the local theater arts group.

This was home until her move to Webster to be closer to family.

Ruby was a reserved and private person, but those that knew her loved her great sense of humor. She liked being outdoors and one of her favorite things was bird watching. She also enjoyed doing arts and crafts. In her 80’s she took up painting and the family has many of these beautiful paintings by her in which to remember her by.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Donald in 2001. Also preceding her are her parents: Rex and Leeta Tullis; brothers and sisters Cressley, Frances, John Albert, Rex, and Irene.
