Thomas Lee “Tom” Thatcher, 69, of Alvin passed away on July 4, 2019. He was born on June 13, 1950 in Utica, New York to parents, Robert and Harriet (Hopp) Thatcher. Tom proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1968 until 1976. He resided in Alexandria, Louisiana before he moved to Alvin in April of 1977.
Tom was passionate about his love for Christ and his country. He was a member of AA for almost thirty five years. Tom cared deeply, not only about his own recovery, but also the recovery of others. He was a kind and generous man who often put the needs of others before his own.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Harriet Thatcher; and his daughter, Rachel Thatcher.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Robert T. Thatcher and daughter-in-law Miranda Victory of Krum, Texas; his brother, Richard G. Thatcher of Grand Island, Nebraska; his sisters: Susan L. Atwell of Grand Island, Nebraska and Tracy C. Thatcher of Asheville, North Carolina; and grandchildren: Troy M. Thatcher and Haylan O. Thatcher.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Oak Park Chapel.
