Vincent Wayne George, age 68 of Alvin, passed away on March 13, 2018. He was born on November 1, 1949 in Houston to parents, Robert and Verneda George. Vincent was a truck driver while serving in the United States Army, as well after he was discharged. He moved from Louisiana to Alvin 18 years ago. Vincent then met Cheryl Wright, later becoming the love of his life. They were married on July 3, 2004 at Lake Livingston.
Some of Vincent’s favorite pastimes were fishing especially catching crappie, dancing, and spending time with his grandbabies.
Vincent was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Verneda George; and his brother, Gerald George.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl George of Alvin; children: Buddy Settler and wife Delisa of Rye, Texas, Mickey Wayne George of San Antonio, and Robert George and wife Leigh Anne of Sterling, Louisiana; grandchildren: Naveah, Mickella, Daulton, and Hudson; niece, Dorry George of Florida; and nephew, Gerald Dennis George of Florida.
Services for Vincent Wayne George will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Oak Park Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. with the Funeral Service to follow starting at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
