W G Middlebrooks

W G Middlebrooks, age 88, of Alvin passed away on June 6, 2017 in Webster. He was born on November 27, 1928 in Walnut Springs, Texas to parents, William Gerrard and Era Jane (Jones) Middlebrooks. W G, Butch to most, left Walnut Springs in 1939 with his family and relocated to Alvin. Butch was of the Baptist faith and loved attending services at Skyview Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, racquetball, and staining glass. Butch married Beverly Faye Fitzwater on September 22, 2000 in Fredericksburg, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Era Middlebrooks; and his first wife, Susie Middlebrooks.

Butch is survived by his wife, Beverly Faye Middlebrooks of Alvin; children: Monte Middlebrooks and wife Debbie of Alvin, Carl Slaten and wife Susan of Hemphill, Texas, Polly O’Neal and husband Charles of Lawley, Alabama, Peggy McGraw and husband Randy of Montevallo, Alabama, Sandi Wells and husband Carl of Hemphill, Texas; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Oak Park Chapel. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Park Cemetery with Bro. Cecil Bowery officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Butch’s memory to Skyview Baptist Church at P.O. Box 2326, Alvin, TX. 77512.
