Andrea (Macias) De Leon, age 82 of Alvin passed away on June 16, 2020. She was born to parents Alfredo Macias and Virginia Garza in Harlingen, Texas on November 30, 1937. On December 27, 1953, in Harlingen, she married the love of her life, Rogelio “Roy” De Leon. Andrea was a faithful member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
She worked as the head cook at NASA for over 20 years. When she left NASA, she spent her free time volunteering at her church and participating in church activities. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Everyone knew her as their mother. She had a heart of gold and made sure no one was ever hungry or was without a place to stay, she also prayed for everyone she knew.
She is preceded in death by her husband Rogelio De Leon; mother, Virginia Garza and father, Alfredo Macias; sisters: Santos, Luisa, Maria, Juanita, and Jesusa; and brother, Ernesto.
Those left to cherish her memory are children: Beatriz De Leon Lara of Alvin, Rogelio De Leon, Jr. and Cecilia of Alvin, Clarita De Leon Costanzo and David of Alvin; sister, Concha Candanoza; Grandchildren: Raul Lara, Jr., Sandra Lara Neace, Luis Lara, Krystal Garza, Amy De Leon, Ashley De Leon, David Costanzo Jr.; Great Grandchildren: Christion Lara, Jesse Neace, Lucas Neace, Ben Neace, Sammy Lara, Karina Rodriguez, Adam Martinez III, Jalissa Martinez, Abel Martinez, Jacob Martinez, Ava Escobar, Alexa Escobar, Aria Rios, Andrea Rios, Jonathon Costanzo, Jacob Costanzo; Great Great Grandchildren: Abrianna Lara, Brielle Lara, and Melina on the way; as well as many other family members and friends.
