Clyde William Swinehart, Jr., age 79, of Alvin passed away on January 22, 2020 in Galveston. He was born on February 5, 1940 in Picher, Oklahoma to parents, Clyde William Sr. and Ada Hazel (Meek) Swinehart. C.W. moved from Picher, Oklahoma with his family when he was 8 years old. He married the love of his life, Melba Jean Swinehart on January 29, 1987.
Some of his favorite pastimes were watching Professional Bull Riding and old westerns. C.W. enjoyed barbequing and always made sure to tell everyone that he made the best ribs. He was a quiet, kind, and giving man. Most importantly he cared deeply about his family and enjoyed each and every moment he spent with them. His smile, kind eyes, and dry sense of humor will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
C.W. was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Jean Swinehart; and his parents, Clyde and Ada Swinehart.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Deane (Swinehart) Beck of League City, Texas, and Chris Swinehart of Santa Fe, Texas; sister, Roxanne Harter and husband Rick of Dickinson, Texas; grandchildren, Sabrina Lee Armstrong and Zoe Marie Beck; nephew, Brian Harter; niece, Brooke Dienst and husband Christopher; and great niece, Emily Grace Dienst; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Oak Park Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Park Cemetery with Brother Cecil Bowery officiating.
