Debbie Jean Baggett arrived in the presence of her Lord God on December 21, 2022. She is now content in the arms of her Savior.
Debbie was born July 17, 1933, to Barney and Willie Elam, a pioneer ranching family in Seminole, Texas. She married Bennie “Joe” Baggett in February of 1953. Debbie and Joe were married and lifelong partners until Joe’s death on September 11, 2002.
Debbie and Joe moved to Alvin in 1963 and became some of the founders and original members of Grace United Methodist Church in Manvel, Texas. Debbie moved to Brenham in 2004 to be closer to her children, Beverly and Terry, and their families; she resided there until her death.
Debbie was the loving mother of two children, daughter Beverly (Baggett)Richter and husband Paul Richter of Brenham, Texas; and, son Terry Baggett and wife Renee’ Baggett of Hockley, Texas. She is the grandmother, known as “My Debbie” of four grandchildren, Michelle Gray (Robert “Buddy” Gray), Travis Baggett, Mathew Richter (Stephanie Richter) and Danny Richter (Kristen Richter). She is the great grandmother of five great grandchildren Eleanor (Nora) Gray, Jolene (Joe) Gray, Bailey Richter, Cade Richter, Mark Paul Richter. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Bennie “Joe” Baggett, sister Johnnie Lynn Swearengen and brother Dayton Elam.
