Delia Salazar, age 68, of Manvel passed away on October 1, 2020 in the comfort of her own home. She was born on January 7, 1952 in Port Lavaca to parents, Daniel Garza and Candida Garza Paz. Delia has lived in the area since 1985 and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Manvel. She married Mike Gilbert Salazar on May 17, 1970 in Port Lavaca, in which they enjoyed 50 years of marriage.
Delia enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and attending their sporting events. She also enjoyed going out to eat with her family and friends. She loved to travel—Delia and her sisters would go on “Sister Trips” to enjoy one another’s time.
Delia was preceded in death by her mother, Candida Garza Paz, whom passed away in March 1988; her father, Daniel Garza, whom passed away in August 1960; her daughter, Amanda Salazar; and her brothers: Toribio Garza, Felix Paz, Sr., Baldemar Garza, Sr., and Lorenzo Garza, Sr.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Mike Gilbert Salazar, Sr.; her children: Mike Salazar, Jr. and wife Blanca of Alvin, and Adeanna Marquez and husband Adrian of Alvin; her sisters: Janie Moreno, Irene Valdez, Ofelia Ragusin, and Maria Gottsponer; grandchildren: Mike Salazar III, Carlos Salazar, Alexia Salazar, Madilynn Marquez, Adrian Marquez, Yvette Marquez and Brianna Cuellar; and great grandchildren, Mike Salazar IV and Chloe Gomez; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
