Dolores (Dolly) Trigg Bolton, 94 of Friendswood passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior and Lord Jesus on Sunday, November 28, 2021, surrounded by her family.
She was born in New Orleans, LA to the late Robert Laroy and Juanita Trigg. Dolly graduated high school from Ursuline Academy in Galveston and received a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Incarnate Word College in San Antonio. She worked at Union Carbide Lab in Texas City as a chemist for seven years and then spent the rest of her life serving her family as a housewife, mother and grandmother. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly!
Dolly was married to the late Charles Lee Bolton on June 11, 1955, and they were married 58 years. In 1964 she and Chuck moved to Friendswood and raised their family there. Dolly enjoyed genealogy, cooking, sewing, painting, flower arranging, and gardening and she was an active member of the Alvin Garden Club for decades. She was also one of the founding members at Mary Queen Catholic Church where she attended and volunteered throughout her life. Everyone who knew Dolly remembers her as a kind and gentle woman who always had a warm and welcoming smile and a generous heart!
Dolly was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck, and her sister, Naomi Schoppe, and is survived by her three children: Carolyn Skarzynski and husband, Jim, of Richmond, TX; David Bolton and wife, Leah Ann, of Alvin; Louise O’Brien and husband, David, of Los Alamos, NM. Six grandchildren: Steven, Greg, and Daniel Bolton, Jeff Skarzynski, James O’Brien, and Julia O’Brien, seven great-grand children and numerous nieces and nephews.
