Doris Mitchell Obituary
Doris Ann (Pipho) Mitchell, age 68, of Brookside Village went to her forever home on November 8, 2020. She was born on August 18, 1952 in Houston to parents, Gerhardt and Frances (Richter) Pipho. Doris was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pasadena. She moved from Pasadena to Brookside Village 13 years ago and had been a resident ever since. She met her soul mate, Fred Elbert Mitchell II, in 1967 during high school. After many years of dating, they got married on June 23, 1984 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Houston.
Doris enjoyed all sorts of arts and crafts. One of her favorite things to do was to sew. Doris was very creative. She made her own prom dress and costumes for her children throughout their childhood, such as: Power Rangers, Princess Jasmine, and many others. She also loved to craft with stained glass.
Doris was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Pipho; her stepmother, Louise Pipho; and her sister, Carolyn Pipho.
Left to cherish the many memories is her husband, Fred Elbert Mitchell II of Brookside Village, TX; her father, Gerhardt Pipho and wife Fawn of Colorado; her mother-in-law, Wahnetta Mitchell of Brookside Village, TX; her children: Jessica Mitchell, and James Mitchell and his girlfriend Lilly of Brookside Village, TX; her siblings: Sharon Pampell and husband Rodney of Pearland, TX, Randy Pipho and wife Priscilla of Hutto, TX, Kathy Puseman and husband Paul of Bailey, CO, and David Pipho and wife Tammy of Magnolia, TX; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church at 5050 East Sam Houston Pkwy S, Pasadena, TX 77505 with Pastor Randy Ledbetter officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to help with funeral cost. They may be mailed to Zion Lutheran Church in Pasadena, addressed to the Mitchell Family; or contact Jessica Mitchell at jmitchell2387@gmail.com for the Mitchell's home address.
