George Shoemake Obituary

George A. Shoemake, 99, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022, in Temple, Texas. He was born in Singer, Louisiana on May 25, 1923, to Lula (Coward) and James Benjamin Shoemake.

He was in the Army. WWII Combat Vet with a purple heart. He lived in Alvin Tx most of his life with both wives. He was a carpenter and a farmer. He loved to grow vegetables and fruit trees. and his favorite hobby was fishing for red fish and flounder. He loved going out in his boat in the Gulf.

Mr. Shoemake is survived by his daughter Joyce Gilbert; son Ross Shoemake; grandchildren Lewis Gilbert Jr. and his wife Tobi Ann Gilbert and Rosanne Bossley and her husband David Bossley; great-grandchildren Lewis Gilbert III and his wife Myranda Gilbert, Melody Gilbert, Just Birdsong, Cody Bossley and Dillon Bossley.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lula (Coward and James Benjamin Shoemake, his two wives Ruby Shoemake and Bernice Shoemake, siblings J.B. Shoemake, Ruby Shoemake Hall and Jewell Shoemake McNiel: a son in-law Lewis Gilbert Sr. and daughter in-law Billie Shoemake.
