Ila Dawn Johnson, age 81 of Alvin, passed away on March 6, 2021. She was born on December 13, 1939 in Friensdwood, Texas to parents, Lloyd “Doc” and Dorothy Garretson Cole. Ila married Charles Johnson on February 25, 1959 in Friendswood, Texas.
Ila loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed taking care of her family, cooking, sewing, crafting and cheering on all of her grandkids at their sporting events.
She was preceded in death by her father Lloyd “Doc” Cole, mother Dorothy Cole, sister Becky Johnson, and brother Dale Cole.
Left to cherish Ila’s memory is: her husband of sixty two years, Charles H. Johnson, her son Lloyd Johnson and wife Gina; her daughters: Shay Johnson and Sherry Culbertson, Karen Underwood and husband Scott, Stacy Flowers and husband Clif, and Tracy Davis and husband Steve; sister in law Patsy Cole, sister Brenda Barnes and husband Barney, brother Lyndon Cole and his wife Paula, grandchildren; Nikki, Emily, Maddie, Adrian, Colton, Amanda, Kasey, Jake, Hannah, Kolbie and fifteen great grandchildren.
