Jackie Lee Lane, age 78, of Alvin went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 3, 2020. He was born on October 29, 1941 in Pineville, Louisiana to mother, Kathrine Dunbar. Jackie married the love of his life, Brenda Jo Smith, on August 18, 1961 in Kermit, Texas. After retiring from the oilfield industry, they moved from Meadows Place to Alvin in June of 1999 to be close to their children and grandchildren.
Jackie loved going deer hunting but gave that up to go on cruises. He and Brenda made many memories as they traveled. Their love of going on cruises took them many places. Jackie loved his kids, and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Lane.
Left to cherish Jackie’s memory are his children: Doug Lane, and Kathy Windsor and husband Buck; siblings: Betty Bordelon and husband Darryl, Sheila Aymond and husband David, and Steve Honeycutt; grandchildren: Ian Windsor and wife Ashley, Colin Windsor and wife Shannon, Ethan Windsor and wife Stephanie, Dylan Windsor, Grayson Lane and Mikaela Rivera and husband Paul; and great grandchildren: Beckett, Declan, Rowan, Landry, Charles, Liam, and a 7th due in August.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Oak Park Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Park Chapel with Pastor Jerry Stark officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Park Cemetery. Honoring the Lane Family will be pallbearers: Ian Windsor, Colin Windsor, Ethan Windsor, Dylan Windsor, Grayson Lane, and Paul Rivera; as well as honorary pallbearer, Mikaela Rivera.
