James Norman Obituary

James DeVeril Norman, age 82 of Houston passed away on April 14, 2020. James was born to Gradie Rillis and Susie Ann Norman on September 19, 1937 between Benjamin and Vera, Texas. He had two brothers and one sister. He lived with his father and mother in Vera, Texas, his parents moved to Spur, Texas in 1939 to live with his grandparents Eck and Julia Ritchie to help with the farming. His older brother Donald Norman and younger brother David Norman, his younger sister was Mona LaRue (Norman) Eggleston. His parents and siblings have passed. His oldest son Jimmie DeVeril Norman worked at the Bellaire police department in Bellaire, Texas and was killed in a traffic related stop. James married the love of his life, Billie Nell (Rogers) Norman on June 1, 1958 in West Columbia, Texas. He proudly served in the United States Navy for 6 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gradie and Susie Norman; brothers, Donald Norman, David Norman; sister, Mona LaRue (Norman) Eggleston; son, Jimmie DeVeril Norman.

He left a wife Billie Nell Norman of 61 years and 3 sons: Johnnie Norman and wife Kathy, Jerrie Norman and wife Susan, and Jamie Norman, Sr. and wife Cheryl; daughter-in-law, Mitzie Norman; grandchildren: Daniel Norman, Dallas Norman, Cory Norman, Gradie Norman, Danielle Norman, Jamie Norman, Jr., Jude Norman; great grandchildren: Remington Bohannon, Rowen Bohannon, Rory Bohannon, Dylan Norman, Charlotte Norman, Lily Norman, and Jett Norman; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
