Jorge T. Arevalo, Sr., age 88 of Alvin, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and reunited with his wife on May 28, 2019. He was surrounded by family whose lives he touched graciously. Jorge was born May 14, 1931 in Friendswood, TX and was a resident of Alvin, TX for 65 years. He was a devoted father and a very well-known active member throughout his community where he established a business. He was a man who loved to serve the Lord, and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
On January 19, 1970, Jorge and his wife Beatrice Arevalo opened George’s Cleaners and Community Cleaners, which became one of Alvin’s most successful dry-cleaning businesses to date. Jorge worked alongside his wife and daughter Carmen Castro for well over 40 years. He built many lasting memories with his family at their bay house where he enjoyed relaxing and being able to teach and watch his family fish.
He is preceded in death by his wife Beatrice D. Arevalo, his father Doroteo Arevalo, his mother Refugio (Trujillo) Arevalo, his daughter Carmen Arevalo Castro, and brothers Antonio T. Arebalo, Jesus T. Arevalo and Carlos T. Arevalo.
He is survived by his sisters Ana Arevalo Garcia and Elisa Arevalo Rimoldi, his brother Andres T. Arevalo, sons Johnny Rodriquez, Jorge Arevalo Jr and wife Suzanne, and Eugenio Rodriquez, daughters Yolanda Diaz and husband Jenky, Cynthia Chambless and husband Chan, and son in law Florentino Castro Jr. He also has 13 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.
