Larry “Don” Burrow was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, May 6, 2022, after 67 years.
He was born September 5, 1954 to Lonnie Preston Burrow Jr. and Wanda Fayrene Harvey, he was the second of 9 children.
He resided in Fischer, Texas for the last 3 years and spent 44 years in Alvin, Texas raising his family and committing his time to his church. He is survived by his loving wife, of 48 years, Diana Talley Burrow of Fischer, Texas; his son Trever Don Burrow and wife Melissa of Midlothian, Texas; his daughter Amy Burrow Leach and husband Jerry Leach of Canyon Lake, Texas; and granddaughter Ava Diane Leach and grandsons Brooks Andrew Burrow, Dylan Ray Leach and Carson Thomas Burrow.
He is survived by five siblings, Perry Burrow, Kenneth Burrow, Clifford Burrow, Rhonda Hernandez, Linda DelCampo and was preceded in death by Lonnie Burrow, Brenda Bancroft and Jason Burrow. Don left numerous nieces, nephews and friends that will miss him.
Don learned how to be a master carpenter from his father and has built many homes for all to enjoy. Then, he went to work at Texas Petrochemical in Pasadena, Texas and became a Shift Supervisor.
He loved working with his hands building furniture, gardening, fishing and camping; he also loved giving back to his church community and sharing his love for Jesus with everyone. Some of his most proud moments were becoming ordained as a Deacon as well as completing the Faith Bible Institute Course at First Baptist Church of Alta Loma. After Hurricane Harvey damaged their church, Don worked endlessly to restore the Mother’s Day Out building and Senior Parsonage.
The family will receive friends on Thursday May 19, 2022 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at First Baptist Church Alta Loma, 5400 Main Street, Sante Fe, Texas 77510
The Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church Alta Loma on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 10:00 am, with Pastor Jake Bigford presiding. Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial, 8513 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77505.
Honoring Don Burrow as pallbearers will be Jay Blackwell, Mike Tribble, Dave Erdman, Steve Lee, Pat O’Donnell and Allen Smith.
Honorary pallbearers are Perry Burrow, Kenneth Burrow, Clifford Burrow, Gonzo Hernandez, Carlos Delcampo and Glynn Williams.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christus Hospice-Central Texas, 1315 Interstate 35 Frontage Road, San Marcos, Texas 78666.
