Lee Merchant

Manuel “Lee” Merchant, 68 of Alvin passed away on Thursday October 12, 2023, surround by his family. He was born on July 31, 1955, to Dorothy E. (Burris) and Smokey Earl Merchant, in Popularville, Mississippi.

Lee ran wrecker for Merchant’s Wrecker service for the past fifty plus years where he served and loved his community as much as his own family.

Lee is survived by his wife of 45 years Elaine Rae (Tower) Merchant, along with his three children; Tonia Michelle Merchant, Jesse Lee Merchant and his wife Stormi Rakae Merchant, Tony Ray Merchant and his wife Christie Elaine Merchant; fifteen grandchildren; Stephaine Michelle (Krafft) McDowell and her husband John Edward McDowell III, Aaron David Krafft Jr., Katelynn Nicole Krafft, Makayla Elizabeth Krafft, Mallori Elaine Merchant, Tony Ray Merchant Jr., Chloe Yvonne Merchant, Rivers Corinne Merchant, Summer Starr Weinrich, Caleb Joe Ray Bradley Weinrich, Skyler Rakae Merchant, Jacob Eugene Lee Merchant, Safire Marie Merchant, Leland Wayne Bryce Merchant, Zayn Alexzander Earl Merchant; and four great-grandchildren; Aubree Michelle Krafft, John Edward McDowell IV, Amelia Blake McDowell, Sofia Nicole Rozzi and great-grandchild number five due in February of next year;  five siblings, Eddy Merchant, Carol (Merchant) James, Danny Merchant, Johnny Merchant and Russell “Rusty” Merchant.
