Margaret M. Juarez, age 90, of Alvin passed away peacefully on June 21, 2020 at the Houston Hospice Center. She was born on February 21, 1930 in Alvin, Texas to parents, Nieves and Maria Martinez. Margaret was a lifelong resident of Alvin. Margaret met and married her beloved husband Balentine “B.G.” Juarez on June 10, 1951 in Alvin and together they started a life together that would last almost 70 years.
Margaret’s life was a life of service since the age of seven when her mother, Maria, passed away. She helped care for her siblings and father, Nieves. Most of her brothers served in the military and her brother Felipe was honored with a Purple Heart. She assisted B.G with his business and devotedly provided care to her grandchildren.
Some of Margaret’s favorite pastimes included... 8:00 a.m. Sunday Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for more than 40 years; Saturday afternoons at the beauty shop and then out to dinner on Saturday evenings with her family; sitting on the breezeway with B.G. talking about his day at work; baseball games no matter what team was playing; reading the newspaper & magazines especially Good Housekeeping and family & friend gatherings. Margaret loved spending time with her granddaughters from preparing their breakfast to going with B.G. to pick them up after school.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Balentine “B.G.” Juarez; her parents, Nieves and Maria Martinez; and her siblings: Amelia Garza, John Perez, Felipe Perez, Nieves Martinez Jr., Herman Martinez, Calistro Martinez, David Martinez, Roman Martinez and Lourdes (Dure) Martinez.
Left to cherish the many wonderful memories are her daughters: Lois Juarez, Esther Juarez, Betty Jo Wuenschel and son-in-law Thomas Wuenschel; grandchildren: Julia Wuenschel and Joan Wuenschel; Margaret’s siblings Rafela Jimenez, Lutricia Garza, Willie Martinez and Raymond Martinez as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
