Michael Calvin Bennett

Mr. Michael Calvin Bennett, age 74, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2020.  He was born on September 24, 1945, in Houston, Texas. Mr. Bennett grew up in Pearland, Texas where he graduated from high school in 1963. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he received multiple honors including soldier of the month twice. He has been an Alvin resident for the last 45 years and was a faithful member of The Believers Sanctuary Church.

The last few years he lived his life simple and stress free. He mostly spent time working with plants and gardening. He also enjoyed attending bible studies and going to church.

Mr. Bennett is preceded in death by his parents, Bernice & Calvin Bennett; and his brother, Robbie Bennett. 

Our dad & otherwise known to his grandchildren as “Pa”, Michael Bennett, will be loved always and forever. He will truly be missed by all of his family.

Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his children: Shawn Tadlock, Teresa Wall and husband Ronnie, and Nathan Nance and wife Rori; sister, Joan Bennett Bell; sister, Linda Smith; six grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Services for Michael Bennett will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Oak Park Chapel.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The Memorial Service will begin immediately following at 6:00 p.m. with his Pastor Russ Fontaine officiating.
