Obituary

Patricia Lee Macumber, 79, of Missouri City, passed away unexpectedly on March 12, 2022.

She was born on August 26, 1942, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her family later moved to Port Arthur, Texas, where she met her husband of 57 years, Harold R. Macumber, Jr. Their love was instant and everlasting. Together they raised four daughters: Elizabeth, Debora, Sandra, and Patricia.

From 1968 to 2015, Sagemont was their home. During much of that time, Patricia was a long-time parishioner of St. Luke’s Catholic Church. She was strong in her Catholic faith and prayers; she cherished her numerous crosses that decorated her walls and she kept the rosary close at hand.

Patricia was creative and had an entrepreneurial spirit. In the 1990s, she started her own business, "Flowers and Gifts," in Almeda Mall. She took great pride in her craft. From floral arrangements to flawless bows, she had an eye for design and the touch of an artist.

Being from New Orleans, she could create a pot of gumbo and oyster dressing that was second to none. She loved going bowling, going to the movies, and watching Astros baseball. Taking selfies–especially with her daughters, sisters, brother, and grandkids–was important to her. She loved snapping pictures to preserve every moment with loved ones.

Patricia was the ultimate giver. She prioritized looking after her family and friends. She loved giving gifts, often adorned with one of her signature bows, but also consistently gave the gift of her time and presence. Her family always knew they could count on her to support them in any capacity.

One of her greatest joys was her grandchildren (and great-grandchildren). Being there for her grandkids was of utmost importance. She was the number one fan at her grandkids’ games and concerts; she rarely missed an event and was often the first one in the stands.

As we celebrate her life on Friday, March 18, wear pink (her favorite color) or your favorite sports jersey; she loved watching baseball and football.

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents Edmond Victor and Fern Lee Victor Jenkins, her husband Harold R. Macumber, Jr., her brother, Edmond Victor (“Eddie”), and her great-grandchild, Blakeleigh Frantal.

She is survived by her daughters: Elizabeth Macumber, Debora Waddell and husband Robby, Sandra Bushman and husband Gary, Patricia Bujnoch and husband Mark; grandchildren: Debora Churches and husband Matt, Danny Waddell, Michael Gross and wife Jordan, Trista Hough and husband Robert, Chris Gross and wife Kera, Kyle Frantal and wife Rosaleigh, Robby Waddell and wife Jessica, Travis Bushman, Brooke Bushman, Mark Thomas Bujnoch, Jr., and Matthew Harold Bujnoch; great grandchildren: James Churches, Adam Churches, Paul Churches, Chase Gross, Caden Gross, Ella Gross, Julianne Gross, Bobby Hough, Parker Hough, Charlotte Gross, Presley Hough, Hannah Churches, Haley Churches, Cole Gross, Logan Waddell, Colton Waddell, Maven Waddell, Haisleigh Frantal, and Brynleigh Frantal; siblings: Bernice DeLeon and Victoria Gemelli; and numerous other family and friends.
