Paul Golden Obituary

Paul David Golden, 64, of Alvin had his family by his side on November 14, 2018 when Jesus called him home. Paul began his life journey on June 28, 1954 in McAlester, Oklahoma when he was born to Harvey and Louise (Pierce) Golden. From an early age, Paul always displayed leadership qualities. Whether it was in sports or academics, he excelled. One of his many accomplishments includes completing all seven ranks of Boy Scouts and obtaining his Eagle Scout. His heart has always been in service and he spent time proudly serving our country in both the Army and the Air Force for a total of six years.

He married Sandra Crable on April 6, 1973 and they were blessed to have forty-five years together.  They spent time in Ministry in Kansas and Oklahoma and then later relocated to Texas. He sang with Psalms 3, a Southern Gospel Group for five years (1975 – 1980). He had a kind heart, an infectious smile, and a passion for people.  God came first in his life and spreading the Gospel was of utmost importance to him. His whole life was devoted to God and the calling that God gave him which in simple terms is; “See a need and meet it, Find a hurt and heal it.” He attended Oral Roberts University in Oklahoma. The family relocated to Alvin and he became the founding pastor of Light Christian Center in 1988 and established eighteen churches in Kenya, Africa and two in Tanzania, Africa. During his time as Pastor of Light Christian Center he started a First Responders Team, and Light International School of Ministry; was instrumental in spearheading the Royal Rangers Program and the Creative Drama Team.

After God and his family – the love of being on his motorcycle was precious time spent. He and Sandy have had many travels across the country, covering 48 of the 50 states. Their travels took them beyond these United States and into Canada, Israel, Africa, Mexico, India, China, Budapest and many other places in Europe.

Those that preceded him in death include his parents Harvey and Louise Golden; son Jared Golden; and sister Decarla Hensley.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Golden; daughters: Alisha Golden and Jessica Golden Booth; sons: Timothy Golden and Christian Golden; sisters: Linda Purcell and Jo Silvey; grandchildren: Alexi Oliveira, Alia Oliveira, Kyler Booth, Dexter Booth, Mary Jane Griego, Cable Leifeste, and Alexus Golden; and numerous other family members and friends.
