Paulina (Garza) Martinez, age 51, of Alvin passed away peacefully on November 26, 2020 at Houston Clear Lake Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 31, 1969 in Mante, Taumalipas, Mexico to parents Juan Garza and Paulina Martinez. She was the youngest of six and loved her family above all else.
Paulina moved from Mexico to Texas almost thirty years ago, where she built a loving home for her children in Alvin. She was a devoted mother and grandmother that held a strong Catholic faith. Her biggest passion was cooking traditional Mexican food that brought her family together. Paulina had a lively personality that brightened the lives of anyone who met her.
Paulina was preceded in death by her parents Juan Garza and Paulina Martinez. Those left to cherish her memory are her spouse, Jorge Hurtado of Alvin, children: Paulina Luckemann and husband Sven, and Luis Francisco Hurtado; sisters: Maura Garza, Samira Hopkins and husband Bill; brothers: Juan Garza, Isidoro Garza and Jose Cavazos; grandchildren: Emmett, Scott, Sven and Liam; nieces and nephews: Alejandro Cavazos, Alfredo Cavazos, Alberto Cavazos, Karely Anaya, Matilde Garza, Eduardo Garza, Daniella Garza, Nicole Hopkins, and William Hopkins; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
