Philip J. Burch passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on October 10, 2021. He was born on August 23, 1934 in New Orleans, LA to Melvin and Elizabeth (Sims) Burch. He graduated from Franklinton High School in 1955 and joined the military. He married his wife Dorothy Miller on March 8, 1957 and they had 4 children. He retired in 1975 from the United States Coast Guard and they settled down in Alvin, TX. He worked for Texas Gulf Marine Electronics and then he worked at Continental Airlines where he retired. He enjoyed his retirement by fishing, playing golf, and bowling. He never missed a ball game whether it was to watch his grandkids, great-grandkids, or the Houston Astros.
Philip is preceded in death by his parents Melvin & Lola Burch; Elizabeth & Willie Knesek and son Michael Burch.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Dorothy Burch of Alvin, TX; Daughter-in Law Lanette Burch of Angleton, TX; Daughter Annette Mickan of Alvin, TX; Son Kenny Burch, wife Wendy of Livingston, TX; Son Jimmy Burch, wife Ronda of Alvin, TX. Brothers Glenn Burch, wife Emogene of Franklinton, LA and Ralph Burch of Magnolia, MS. Grandkids; Melissa Blethen, husband Joe of Arcola, TX; Tiffany Burch of Angleton, TX; Danielle Hill-Wilson, husband Nathan of Friendswood, TX; Stephanie Hein, husband Brandon of Brookshire, TX; US Army Warrant Officer Billy J. Burch, wife Amanda of Killeen, TX; Ashley Burch, husband Mark Coles of Coldspring, TX; Great-Grandkids, Andrew Hill; Brenden Wilson; Hayden Wilson; Mason Blethen; Ryleigh Blethen; Baylee Hein; Kaelyn Hein; Kynslee Hein; and the caboose Ethan Philip Burch; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service has been planned for family and close friends.
