Richard William Hunter Jr., age 74, of Alvin Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on July 3rd, 2021.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Dianna, his son Richard (Rick) William Hunter III, his daughter Carrie Hunter Parker, her husband Michael Parker, and their three children.
Richard, the eldest of four from Greensburg, Pennsylvania, is survived by his two sisters, Susan Evans, and Coleen (Wink) Hunter, and his brother, Billy Beggs. He is preceded in death by his mother, Jean Morgan, and father Richard William Hunter Sr.
Richard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son. He was also a published author, a paralegal, President of the Brazoria County Writers Guild, and a former Brazoria County Sheriff's Deputy.
Richard served his country as a Military Police Squad Leader with the 371st ASA Company, 303rd ASA Battalion, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant before he was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1976.
A memorial service will be held in Froberg Funeral Home at Oak Park’s chapel on Saturday, August 7th, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Richard’s honor to the Wounded Warrior Project.
