Mrs. Helgeson was a great teacher. I knew her in HS and at ACC. She did not allow me to skip by. She was tough but looking back, she was fair. She was kind to me and encouraging. Thinking back, I actually knew her all the way back to cub scouts. She knew my mom and dad too, which probably meant she had the leg up on me. I couldn't get away with anything. She was a good person and I am better off for having her as a teacher. God blessed her and her family. I pray for everyone's peace of mind. She is in a much better place.

Liz was a part of our ASSETS family for years. I remember when she "saved" us one year when she returned to teach Algebra on our Campus after she retired. I also remember how loving, passionate, (and sensitive, at times:)) about her teachings and her students. They not only learned a great deal of math, but they learned a few "life lessons" as well. Another thing I remember is her generous spirit. She used to bring me fresh vegetables from her garden...and some pickled ones, too. I never told her, but the pickled asparagus could have been given to someone else:) One more thing...Liz was the strongest woman I know. She would have beat this cancer, if Jesus didn't want her so bad. And last, her students loved her very much, ( It's all over FB) and so do I. Enjoy your garden in Heaven, Liz!

I am Pat and Bill's daughter Sandy from Winnipeg. It was 4 decades ago you opened your home to Bill's strange relatives from up north...I still recall how much fun it was. May your rest in peace, and know your memory lives on in many places.
